Agreement on the facilitation of SAR operations under the Caspian littoral states liabilities

The 11th meeting to review the draft of search and rescue agreement in the Caspian Sea was held with the participation of 5 countries in which the facilitation of marine search and rescue operations under the liability of each coastal state was agreed upon.

The 11th meeting to review the draft of SAR agreement in the Caspian Sea was held on April 12 virtually. delegations from all five Caspian littoral states participated in this meeting to review issues related to the cooperation of relevant countries in providing desirable search and rescue services.  

The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the management of the General Directorate of Maritime Safety and Protection of the Ports and Maritime Organization and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant bodies, participated in the meeting and expressed Iran's views and positions in this regard.

This agreement is between the governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkmenistan and aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination of the parties in search and rescue operations in the Caspian Sea.
