IRISL Managing Director: Shipping operations grew by 43%

Managing Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line Group: The shipping transport operation of the Islamic Republic of Iran has increased by 43% compared to last year.

In the ceremony for the commemoration of the World Maritime Day, Mohammad Reza Modarres Khiabani pointed out that the shipping group of the Islamic Republic of Iran is responsible for supporting the country's production during difficult conditions of the economic war.

Modarres Khiabani noted that the Shipping Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran has a brilliant 54-year history in the international shipping industry, also the company is currently ranked 14th in the container shipping sector among the world's largest shipping companies.

The managing director of IRISL regarded the sanctions as a negative factor for the activities of the I.R.I. shipping company and stated: Sanctions have made it difficult for us to supply the consumable parts of the vessels.

Modarres Khiabani also mentioned the supply of low-sulfur fuel as another problem caused by the sanctions and said: Fortunately, with the efforts of relevant authorities, we managed to meet 80% of the fleet's need for low-sulfur fuel with the help of Shazand Arak refinery.
