The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) has elected the proposed theme by the Islamic Republic of Iran as the theme for 2022 World Hydrography Day and communicated it to the member states of this organization.
The proposed theme of the Islamic Republic of Iran entitled " Hydrography; Contributing to the United Nations Ocean decade" was accepted by the International Hydrographic Organization and reported in a circular to member states, in order to interact more in this direction in 2022.
The World Hydrographic Organization surveys member states to determine and select the theme of the year for the World Hydrography Day every year.
after the Secretary-General's initial presentation on the 2022 theme at the Second General Assembly of the International Hydrographic Organization in 2021, member states were asked to submit their proposals.
accordingly, the proposed theme of the Islamic Republic of Iran entitled " Hydrography; Contributing to the United Nations Ocean decade" was adopted as the theme for 2022 World Hydrography Day.
